Thank you for that. I’ve got it sussed to do exactly what I require of it now, using standard activation rather than a KMS server. It even detects which site it’s on and changes keycode and OU placement via scripts :)

It’s still a hell of a lot more difficult than it used to be.

Can you get me the output from ‘lspci’ and I’ll see what I can help you with?

It’s really dependent on which make and model of sound card you have and whether the kernel drivers are any good for it. I’ve managed to get sound working on nearly all PCs and laptops with some messing around.

I installed ubuntu 10.04 on my vaio laptop; and most people recommended that as a solution but still no luck. Any ideas you wanna share ?
